You can never write enough about college football, and you can never write too much about quarterbacks.
Think quarterbacks get too much ink, too much attention, too much analysis? Tell that to fans of Southern California and Texas, the past two national champions.
Matt Leinart won a Heisman Trophy and led the Trojans to two national titles. Vince Young led the Longhorns to the national championship last season and finished second in the Heisman voting. Neither will be around for the 2006 season.
Quarterbacks and the quarterback position were hot-button issues during spring football. Of the 65 BCS schools, 20 will have new quarterbacks next season, and eight others have quarterback situations which could best be described as unsettled.
One school that doesn't have quarterback problems is Notre Dame. Senior Brady Quinn should be a leading Heisman Trophy candidate.
