DETROIT -- General Motors Corp. hopes to begin selling its steel-intensive Hummer H2 sport utility vehicles overseas late this winter or early spring. Both the Middle Eastern and European markets are targeted, but only about 2,000 units are likely to be shipped to those areas annually. The production plant in Mishawaka, Ind., which is owned by AM General Corp., is equipped to build only about 45,000 H2s annually, and GM is selling the vehicles through its North American dealerships almost as fast as AM General can make them.
