A lifelong car lover, Wendy Wilson used to be able to fill up several cars she owned with less than $90. Last week, it took her that much just to fill up her Hummer.
"I never in my wildest dreams imagined I would spend $90 to fill up with gas," she said.
She gets 11 miles per gallon in her Hummer, she said, "if I pray real hard." The owner of Wilson's Bakery in Warner Robins, she said it's not that she has money to burn on gas. She cringes when she thinks about what she's spending, but to her, it's worth it.
"It's just a fun vehicle," she said. "I've always been the kind of person that if I like what I'm driving, I don't care what (gas mileage) it gets. It gets what it gets."
